We would like to welcome you as a participant in Neven Matthews Employee Share Option Trust.  We believe that established businesses that empower and support staff can build the kind of equitable society that we all want South Africa to become.  By working together as a team, we can grow Neven Matthews into a market leader, and all share in the fruits of our labour.

We value the contribution that you have made to the company’s performance, and would like to include you as one of the owners of the business.  Effectively, through the Neven Matthews Employee Share Option Trust and the Neven Matthews Leadership Trust (proper), 29% of Neven Matthews will be owned by the staff.  This booklet has been prepared to answer some of the questions that have been asked about how the deal works and what it actually means to you as a beneficiary.

In order for us to create an environment of teamwork, success, and profitability, it is important to take the following two things in consideration:

Firstly, you need to know that your Trustees are properly able to represent you and your best interests and that they will be trained to do so.

Secondly, you need to know that you will share in the money that will be made by Neven Matthews and you need to know what to expect and when to expect it.

We believe that the most important part of this deal is the dignity that it gives to every one of us that work at Neven Matthews.  You are no longer just employees, but you are now also co-owners.

This is our opportunity to work together in trust and unity and continue to build Neven Matthews into a great company.
